Daisy is an East Oakland native and attended Oakland public schools from K-12. Daisy graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. She came back to her hometown to work towards closing the education equity gap for all Oakland students.
Why public education?
Education is knowledge. I’ve learned that education can pave the pathway for a successful future. As an alumna, I know and have experienced that Oakland is not providing an equitable high-quality education for students. We have to work together to create better opportunities for students because they are Oakland’s future.
What are your vices?
I can’t go a day without listening to music. I love how it can take me back to memory lane, inspire me, make me want to dance, get me pumped up when getting ready, and sometimes detach myself from reality when necessary.
