As part of our 2018 school board candidate endorsement process, GO Public Schools Oakland Advocates asked each candidate to complete a questionnaire.

GO Endorses Dr. Gary Yee for Oakland School Board District 4

In less than 70 days, voters in Oakland will have the opportunity to determine 3 of the 7 seats on the Oakland Unified School Board.

In District 4, we are proud to endorse Dr. Gary Yee. As a former Oakland teacher, principal, Board Member, and Superintendent, Dr. Yee has demonstrated the commitment and leadership that OUSD needs during this critical time.

Democracy in Action at GO’s Candidate Interview Day

This past Sunday, August 5, GO hosted a critical event that comes around once every election cycle—school board candidate interviews. Nearly 100 Oaklanders, including parents, teachers, and community leaders, gathered in the GO offices, where they had a chance to meet and hear from candidates from Districts 2, 4, and 6. After getting to know these candidates, those in attendance were given the chance to weigh in on who GO should endorse.
